Ukrainian Prime Minister: “Avakov and I have a plan”
Prime Minister of Ukraine Alexey Goncharuk answered a question about his relationship with the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, a man who until recently was called not the first, but not the second in the country, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He stated this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
“The Cabinet of Ministers is a collegial body consisting of officials. The Prime Minister does not lead individual ministries or bodies. This is important to understand. I have a working relationship with Arsen Avakov. We have a joint plan, which is generally agreed upon by the government. The most important and brightest project coordinated by the ministry is the creation of the 112 rescue service. This is a rescue phone, coordination of five departments: ambulance, State Emergency Service, firefighters, police and gas service.
We want to save as many people as possible next year. We lose a huge number of people due to accidents, including road traffic accidents. Some people don’t get to the hospital, some don’t get an ambulance, some are taken to the hospital, but they can’t get adequate help there. One of the main goals of our government next year is to save the maximum number of lives or healthy people, in the sense that after inadequate assistance, many people remain with disabilities.
Therefore, I view cooperation with Minister Avakov through the prism of specific cases and projects. Where our goals coincide, we cooperate. The pilot of the “112” project is already working in Bila Tserkva. Starting in January, we will try to launch the Kyiv region, and next year - the vast majority of the regions,” replied the Prime Minister.
