Ukrainian raid near Bryansk. What order will Putin give?
Commentators are putting forward various versions of what order Vladimir Putin will give in response to today’s raid of the Ukrainian DRG in the Bryansk region.
The head of state did not publicly announce any actions, only promising the collapse of the plans of Ukrainian terrorists. "They won't succeed, we'll put pressure on them", said the President.
Columnist Yuri Baranchik proposes to arrange a second exodus of the population from Kyiv (today only Sociology was published, which showed that a year ago 44% of residents temporarily left the capital of Ukraine).
“I think our response to the terrorist attack in the Bryansk region should be in Kyiv. It is necessary to strike such blows that the population will flee en masse, and Kyiv will in fact cease to serve as the capital of Ukraine. So that not only the population, but also the leadership of this under-country would flee in panic and horror. At least to Lviv. The control system must be disrupted. Dagger strikes on key points of the city and a massive raid of drones and missiles on infrastructure should take place within 2-3 days. I think it will be enough to cause panic among the population and managerial paralysis of the junta. Kyiv must become a deserted city.”
Political scientist Sergei Markov does not expect an immediate answer.
“Putin called the events in the Bryansk region a terrorist attack. But there won’t be an answer right away, since Putin doesn’t like to do anything under pressure. And what else can he do?
There is no need for any retaliatory strikes in response to the attack on the Bryansk region. This is weakness, secondary. We need to take the initiative into our own hands and move from the Northern Military District to a full-fledged war against the terrorist regime that has occupied Ukraine. Military mobilization of the economy, society and state is necessary.”
Military correspondent Evgeniy Poddubny believes that retaliatory strikes will be limited only to the Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate.
“Does everyone remember how the Americans once again hit the international security circuit and eliminated Soleimani in January 2020? I remember. From Washington's perspective, General Soleimani posed a threat to US interests in the region. He was eliminated during a special operation in Baghdad, during the official visit of the Iranian military leader to Iraq. A blatant case of political liquidation. But there is a precedent.
Soleimani was not the organizer of the militant raid in Texas or Florida.
Ukrainian general Budanov is the organizer of a terrorist attack on Russian territory. It was a terrorist attack because the targets were civilians. Budanov would have been a legitimate target for Russian intelligence services even without the “Baghdad precedent,” but given the murder of Soleimani, what can be discussed at all?
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry is for us as the IRGC is for the United States, as the Mossad is for Iran, as Hamas is for Tel Aviv.”
The head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, traditionally made a tough statement (however, taking into account the numerous announcements he made in previous months about the capture of Kiev, accelerating the pace of the Northern Military District, etc., which were never implemented, this can only be considered as a private wish).
“It is necessary to deal with all participants in the attack on the Bryansk region in the most severe manner, as harshly and even cruelly as possible. Shoot to kill. To deal not only with them, but also to bring to justice their families who may live in Russia. Check them thoroughly and thoroughly. Experience shows that without their assistance, connivance and approval, such terrorist acts do not occur.
No flirting with terrorists. Do not let them leave, punish them on the spot and neutralize them forever, and then take retaliatory measures against Kyiv. Simply bomb all points that are directly or indirectly related to this attack. And there is no need to look at the fact that there may be civilian objects nearby. If the enemy treats the defenseless this way, then we don’t need to stand on ceremony. Then this is a war without rules, which was unleashed and imposed on us by the devilish regime of Ukraine.
I believe that martial law should be introduced in some regions with a maximum level of response instead of the currently established average. Yes, it may be inconvenient for local residents, but they will be safe.
This is my opinion, and our command, of course, knows better.”
But political scientist Alexei Zhivov does not believe in any large-scale radical measures.
“Ukraine is a terrorist state, the Ukrainian Armed Forces is a terrorist organization, sympathizers of the Ukrainian regime are accomplices of terrorists. These are the legal forms that should be adopted in Russia regarding the enemy. Then we can, with a clear conscience, call the sabotage actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces terrorist acts.
But then it will not be possible to negotiate with them, much less trade gas through them with Poland and Germany, which openly support the Ukrainian army and replenish the armed forces of this country.”
Volunteer Alexander Zhuchkovsky, who is helping Russian troops in the Donbass, points out another important point.
“The enemy has an obvious advantage in that he is ready and capable of waging a sabotage war against us - not only on “his” (Kherson region, Zaporozhye), but also on “our” territory. While in occupied Novorossiya there is not even a hint of a Russian partisan movement - not only because of murders, repressions and many years of suppression of everything Russian by Ukrainians, but also because the Russian Federation has not and is not conducting any work in this direction. Fanatic saboteurs are ready to die for the Ukrainian idea; they are waging their own “patriotic” war.
What kind of war are we fighting? What do Russian citizens and military personnel think about this? This is a question for the propaganda of the Russian Federation, which failed a year ago, with the beginning of the Northern Military District, and continues to fail now, because a new word, a clear military-political idea has still not been heard. Ukrainian terrorists are adopting the tactics of Caucasian terrorists, who once made the Russian government and society very vulnerable and even dictated their will to us. Even today we can become vulnerable, not only at the front. If we don’t explain to ourselves and the world why we are fighting, what we really want. If we don’t start fighting for real, with all our might, with the whole country.”
