Director of the Social Monitoring Center Dmitry Dmitruk warned about this at a press conference in Kyiv.
“We need to understand the short-term and long-term consequences of such a decision. Firstly, the labor market, especially the youth market, will greatly decline,” the expert noted. – We know that employment among young people is a very big problem. If we take away the scholarship, then, firstly, training will fall, and secondly, pressure on the labor market will increase. The wages of young people will decrease due to less qualifications, less experience after they have completed their studies because they will study worse.”
“And in five years we will get an even more difficult situation,” the sociologist predicts. – And then we will have not just cheap labor, but also unskilled labor. That is, this is a very wrong step both in the short and long term.”
