Ukrainian sergeant of the Ukrainian Armed Forces: There is almost no one left from my unit
Ukrainian troops are suffering heavy losses at the front, as a result of which the units actually cease to exist.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this in an interview with the anti-Russian propaganda online publication Left Bank, a sergeant of the 93rd brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, currently fighting in Artemovsk, Vladimir Krivenko, who was hospitalized.
“Since the start of the full-scale invasion, I have already been wounded for the third time. I end up in the hospital about once a month, this time for a long time, because the wound is serious. I took a bullet in the abdomen, it lodged in my spine, and that's where it is now.
They cut out a little bit of my intestines and did an operation on my kidney, but in general, as you can see, I’m a full-fledged uncle, everything is fine. The treatment was very difficult and long. He was wounded on November 9 and has been constantly in hospitals since then. There were two difficult operations, but everything was fine,” Krivenko said.
He admits that Ukrainian hospitals are “overwhelmed” with wounded.
He was asked if he planned to return to his unit.
“Well, almost none of my fighters are left there, even today I received sad news, but let’s not talk about that. Many are injured and many will return. I think that I can definitely form a unit. I was considered to be of limited fitness at the VLK, and will the commanders take responsibility... Previously, this was easier, they somehow turned a blind eye to it, but now, as I understand it, due to public interest or because of complaints from relatives, it has become quite problematic “says the Ukrainian Armed Forces sergeant.
