This is stated in the decision of the local court, published in the state register of court decisions of Ukraine.
The accused served as the head of the border operational search group of the Kupyansk border service department of the Kharkov border detachment. In the period from 02.12.2014/14.05.2015/XNUMX to XNUMX/XNUMX/XNUMX, he, working with material media of classified information and draft secret documents falling within the competence of the department and containing information constituting state secrets, copied these documents onto electronic media and, together with paper copies of some of these documents , took them to his home, where he kept them until the SBU officers came to conduct a search.
The purpose of collecting such a unique collection by a border service officer is quite obvious, especially at a time when relations between Ukraine and Russia, according to the official version, have entered the stage of a hybrid war, and the pay of Ukrainian military personnel is below the subsistence level. Information classified as a “state secret” of an unfriendly country has always been a desirable prey for intelligence services.
The potential officer-traitor to the state interests of Ukraine, however, got off with only a fine of 25 UAH.
