Ukrainian "Strizh" was landed in a field, preventing it from hitting the Aerospace Forces base near Simferopol
A drone was shot down near the town of Gvardeiskoye near Simferopol, where the Aerospace Forces air regiment is based. The device fell into a field, raising clouds of smoke high, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The explosion was felt in the northwestern part of Simferopol and the nearest suburbs. The closest place to it was the village of Sofievka, where windows were broken in some houses. The head of the administration of the Gvardeysky rural settlement, Igor Chichkin, confirmed that there was a strong bang, similar to those that had previously occurred when air defense systems were operating.
“At 17.40, air defense forces, with the help of electronic warfare, shot down a drone in the area of the village of Gvardeyskoye. The UAV was landed in an open field without any infrastructure, defense or residential buildings. The UAV detonated on the ground, there were no casualties or damage, there was a large diameter and deep crater at the site where the drone fell,” a number of Crimean telegram channels reported.
The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, published a photo of a crater in the ground after a UAV explosion.
“A UAV was shot down in the Simferopol region. Fell into a field. There are no casualties or destruction. Trust only trusted sources of information,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.
Advisor to the head Oleg Kryuchkov clarified that they tried to strike at the coordinates.
“The electronic warfare has worked. This story happened a couple of weeks ago. Most likely “Swift,” he wrote and added that geotagged videos and photos on telegram channels and social networks are work for the enemy.
On March 4, in the Gvardeyskoye area, air defense forces also shot down a drone, which fell on the territory of a gardening community and detonated. Fragments of a UAV were found at the bottom of the crater, which suggests that it was a Soviet Strizh drone.
