Ukrainian court acquits official accused of supporting Russian Spring
The Rubezhnoye City Court of the Lugansk Region acquitted the former head of the legal department of the Novoaidarsky District Council, who was accused by the SBU of organizing obstruction of the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a special period.

According to the investigation, on May 11, 2014, the accused, being aware that units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine would be sent through the village of Kolyadovka, Novoaidarsky district, to the site of the so-called. The ATO, using its authority as a deputy of the Novoaidarsky district council, called the Kolyadovsky village mayor at approximately 11:00 and convinced him to withdraw local residents in order to block the movement of the column.
On the same day, at approximately 14:10, the chairman of the village, believing that he was implementing the official position of the district authorities, and his action would not allow bloodshed and casualties on the territory of the Kolyadovsky village council, convinced the local population to block the movement of the column of military equipment.
Local residents threw stones at the military personnel and blocked the advance of the column, the court documents say.
The defendant did not admit his guilt, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. The man explained that he was at home that day, did not call anyone and did not ask for anything.
The testimony of witnesses at the trial was limited to stating the fact that a convoy of Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment was blocked. As a result, the guilt of the accused was not proven - the SBU charges fell apart.
At the same time, the position of the representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in court is noteworthy. He mostly lamented that due to the blocking of the convoy, the equipment had to go around the village, which led to excessive consumption of fuel by several thousand hryvnia.
