Ukrainian court remands Sevastopol Self-Defense activist in custody

The department recalled that on July 18, 2019, the Kherson City Court considered the defense petition of a Sevastopol Self-Defense participant, who was detained at the Kalanchak checkpoint on June 11, to change the preventive measure from detention to house arrest.
However, due to the existence of risks stated by the prosecutor’s office of the non-existent Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the court refused to change the preventive measure for the defense, the prosecutor’s office added.
