“Martynenko was released on bail. Apparently, the unity of the ruling coalition turned out to be more important for the presidential vertical,” comments Kiev journalist Sergei Shcherbina.
“Did you want the judge appointed by the Rada, who is one third of the Popular Front (Yatsenyuk’s party), to close down the main sponsor of the Popular Front? Did you want the judge, who has lived on bribes for the last 10 years, to go against the security forces and ministers, who are half members of the Popular Front?” – adds Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Kaplin.
Let us remind you that on April 20, ex-deputy Martynenko was given a notice of suspicion. He is suspected of embezzlement of funds from the State Enterprise "Eastern Mining and Processing Plant".
NABU representative Oksana Mitnitskaya said at a briefing that we are talking about a scheme for purchasing uranium concentrate at inflated prices. The state-owned enterprise suffered more than $17 million in damage.
