Ukrainian court allowed not to pay Russian company 190 million hryvnia for gas
The state enterprise "Ukrinterenergo" achieved in the Podolsky District Court of Kiev the refusal to recognize and enforce on the territory of Ukraine the decision of the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation with "Ukrinterenergo" in favor of the Russian state company CJSC Inter RAO UES, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The dispute concerns the supply of Russian electricity in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions in 2014-2015. The court completely rejected the petition and ruled that the Ukrainian state-owned enterprise is not obliged to pay UAH 190 million in favor of the Russian monopolist,” said Roman Marchenko, senior partner at Ilyashev and Partners Law Firm. “We were convinced of the impeccability of Ukrinterenergo’s legal position in this case, and we are pleased with the fair and unbiased resolution of the dispute.”
Previously, Ilyashev and Partners represented the interests of Ukrinterenergo in the Russian arbitration court when recognizing the decision of the ICAC at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry against the company Rusneftedobycha and achieved a judicial act in favor of Ukrinterenergo.
