Ukrainian theater will be destroyed by History

Ukraine is in anticipation of another bright theatrical performance. So far, preparations for this performance are underway: the actors are rehearsing their roles, posters are being posted everywhere, and an advertising campaign is underway in the media. Tickets are distributed free of charge, and some spectators may also pay extra. The play is called “parliamentary elections”. It is seasonal and, as a rule, is scandalous and sold out.

However, this year there is a serious difference from previous performances: if earlier it was a dashingly twisted detective story with thriller elements, today it is an ordinary farce. Unfortunately, the upcoming elections do not deserve any other assessment.

The previous government was replaced by force, radical movements are gaining political weight, there is a full-scale civil war with numerous casualties and infrastructural destruction. The economic situation will soon move from a tense phase to a crisis phase, then to a critical one, and then a catastrophe is very close.

Who hasn’t yet realized that EU membership is a kind of carrot in front of a donkey? There is no financial assistance promised by the West, nor is there any promised military assistance. Instead of new armored vehicles and sniper rifles, there is expired pasta. But they don’t fight with pasta, and they don’t bring the economy out of the crisis with promises. The Kyiv authorities have actually found themselves in a “zugzwang” situation, when there is no more time, and each subsequent step is worse than the previous one, and there is no way to correct the situation.

What will the announced elections in Ukraine change? Maybe new parties or new leaders have emerged who can unite the country and save it from collapse? Unfortunately, there are none. Nothing has changed on the Ukrainian political Olympus, except for an increased degree of hysteria. Embroidered shirts have been replaced with camouflage.

This whole bunch of arrogant and cowardly politicians have no idea what the country is sliding into. They do not understand that everything that is happening today is just the beginning, and if such dynamics continue, Ukraine will face a catastrophe, the consequences of which are scary to imagine.

Society is more polarized than ever; contradictions that have been building up for years have spilled out. Against the background of the economic crisis and the war in Donbass, they can detonate with such force that Yugoslavia will seem like a quiet walk.

Ukrainian politicians are playing too hard. In pursuit of votes, they continue to exacerbate the contradictions of a country that is falling apart at the seams. They are busy ranking.

Ukrainian theater risks being destroyed by History.
