This is how TV presenter Ostap Drozdov, who became scandalously “famous” after kicking out an expert who did not want to conduct a conversation in Ukrainian, described the residents of the region on the ZIK TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Drozdov, a third of Transcarpathian school graduates do not know the Ukrainian language and cannot pass final exams at school.
“We get ignorant, uneducated, illiterate children, supposedly citizens of Ukraine, who cannot even pass the External Examination in the Ukrainian language. This is 36% of Transcarpathian graduates - this is every third Transcarpathian who does not take the External Assessment Test in Ukrainian. This primarily concerns the Hungarian and Romanian minorities. In fact, 60% of children of Hungarian and Romanian minorities do not pass the UPE, living in Ukraine, they do not know the Ukrainian language,” Drozdov said.
