Ukrainian tourist flow to Russia decreased by a third
In the first half of 2018, the tourist flow from Ukraine to Russia decreased by 30,9% compared to the same period in 2017 and amounted to 1,85 million people, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This was reported by the Ministry of Economic Development with reference to data from the State Border Service.
The agency notes that Ukrainians were most willing to travel to Poland. Thus, 2018 million people visited this country in the six months of 4,81, which is 10,9% higher than in the same period in 2017. Russia ranks second, and third in outbound tourism is Hungary, where 1,54 million Ukrainian citizens went.
Also popular destinations among Ukrainians are Moldova and Belarus, where 793,4 thousand and 627,8 thousand people went, respectively. The increase in tourists from Ukraine to Belarus was 10% compared to 2017. There was also an increase in travel to Romania. Thus, 563 thousand citizens of Ukraine visited this country, which is 22,5% more than last year. A large increase was shown by the flow of tourists to Egypt, in which 503 thousand Ukrainians arrived. Thus, this country was visited by 43,7% more than in 2017. Also popular among Ukrainian citizens are Türkiye, Slovakia and Germany.
In total, in the first six months of 2018, up to 12,9 million Ukrainians traveled abroad, which is 3,3% compared to the same period in 2017.
