Ukrainian scientist wishes the country to play a pawn in the third world war

This opinion was expressed in an interview with the magazine “Kraina” by an associate professor of the Department of Contemporary History of Ukraine at the Kyiv National University. Shevchenko Ivan Patrilyak, according to whom, it is difficult to predict what could provoke a new world war and when exactly it will begin.
“Anything can be the reason,” says the historian. – We are not able to foresee this. There could be, for example, a Russian airstrike on Turkish bases. Or - within NATO's strength. When they confuse them with Syrian terrorists.”
The publication’s interlocutor also answered the question of what Ukraine’s place in the Third World War might be.
“During previous wars, we were not even a chessboard,” Patrilyak asserts. - Only the table on which the game was played. Now Ukraine wants to grow into a pawn of world politics. Which, for example, already exists in Poland and Sweden. This is much better than being a table. If we become such a pawn, we will be able to maintain our independence.”
As PolitNavigator already reported, Ukrainian politician Irina Farion previously stated that Ukraine should become the spearhead of the third world war.
