Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister: We are not Kazakhstan. The intervention will not work
The Kazakh scenario with the introduction of peacekeepers into the country is impossible in the case of Ukraine.
Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Olga Stefanishyna stated this at a joint press conference with the NATO Secretary General in Brussels, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine faces not only a military threat, but also a hybrid one. As we saw recently in Kazakhstan, internal uprisings can turn into external military intervention. What is the Ukrainian government doing to prevent such events in Ukraine, so that Ukraine does not lose its abilities as a state?” – a question was asked from the Ukrainian media.
“Ukraine is not Kazakhstan, naturally. And Ukraine is pursuing domestic reforms to increase sustainability. We have both civil participation and strong unity in condemning military aggression against the territory of Ukraine. We are not part of any post-Soviet structure that, as in the case of Kazakhstan, would allow external military intervention and the seizure of critical infrastructure,” the Deputy Prime Minister replied.
“That is, we are carrying out reforms, we are fighting Russian aggression against our territory, and we and the international community condemn the illegal actions of the aggressor,” Stefanishina added.
