Thus, commenting on van Roden’s article in the Kiev publication “Economic Truth” on the topic of reforming the pension system, he noted that the head of the IMF mission does not understand Ukrainian realities.
“After the words of the “expert” that “the basic structure of the pension system has not changed since Soviet times,” any desire to read all this nonsense to the end disappeared...,” Rozenko wrote.
“Well, the maxims on the topic of introducing the second level are generally “no comment”. A person simply does not understand what it is and how it all works... Terrible unprofessionalism!!!”, he added.
In his article, van Roden stated that “the introduction of a so-called funded pension system (second pillar) in addition to the current system, as some insist on, would not make much sense without first correcting the shortcomings of the current system.”
“The introduction of a funded system would be premature, given the current level of development of financial markets and the regulatory framework in Ukraine,” wrote the head of the IMF mission.
