She said this during celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of the creation of the NATO Documentation and Information Center in Ukraine, the Ukrinform agency reports.
“We have finally crossed the Rubicon and the irreversibility of our choice regarding rapprochement with NATO. Ukraine becomes the eastern flank of the Alliance. This choice is Ukraine’s official refusal to be non-aligned. And only real cooperation with NATO will contribute to the de-occupation of our country,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Klympush-Tsintsadze emphasized that Ukraine works closely with the Alliance on many issues, even without joining it. There are joint exercises and programs, and the NATO Center in Ukraine plays a very important role in this.
In turn, the director of the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine, Barbora Maronkova, noted that much has now been achieved in cooperation with Ukraine, but there are even more tasks and challenges ahead.
To congratulate the NATO Documentation and Information Center, students of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv staged a flash mob. They created a large Alliance star in front of the main building of their institute.
