“Decommunization has taken place. Monuments of the Russian Empire began to disappear from our cities; streets that were named after imperialists and people who despised Ukrainians and Poles have been renamed.

People's consciousness is changing. This leads to the decolonization of Ukraine. The Russian mentality is closed, one that leads to corruption and opacity, and has always had an influence on Ukrainians,” Kirilenko is quoted as saying by the official website of the Ukrainian government.
