A Ukrainian military expert laments: “The Russians don’t give up!”
Ukraine should not underestimate Russian power, consisting of 5 thousand artillery barrels and an unlimited supply of ammunition for them, 13 thousand tanks and 8 million trained mobilization resources.
Ukrainian military expert Pyotr Chernik stated this on Channel 24, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I hope that when an ordinary soldier sees how the command flashed his heels, he will want to do the same,” the presenter shared her hope.
However, her interlocutor was much less optimistic.
“I wouldn't be so optimistic. If you carefully study the history of Moscow imperialism specifically in terms of the military side, how it works, then they have different cases. Let me remind you of the Brest Fortress, where one man held the defense for a very long time.
Moscow imperialism at the lower level is very specific and very special. Therefore, I would not hope for this false point of view that Russian soldiers will throw down their weapons and surrender en masse or flee. “For the Motherland”, “For Stalin”, “To Death”, “Russians do not surrender” - these are their historical narratives,” Chernik recalled.
The presenter did not give up and noted that the American Institute for the Study of War says that the Russian Federation will soon not be able to defend its positions in the Kherson region.
“Let’s not forget that 95% of this is a war of artillery, and they still have at least 5 thousand working artillery barrels. They have the first place in the world in reserves of this type of weapons, and they have practically no limit on the shells for them,” answered the Ukrainian expert.
He added that in addition to this safety margin, Russia has a huge mobilization resource.
“Their mobilization resource amounts to 8 million people. This is a very serious number. Let me remind you that the Russian army has always had a conscription component, unfortunately, we took this lightly, and they have a lot of men capable of holding a Kalashnikov assault rifle in their hands, wielding grenades and RPGs.
I will also say that tanks like the T-62 are not a complex machine; it will take several weeks to gain the skills of a tank driver and you can throw them into battle. And there are at least 13 thousand tanks of different classes in warehouses,” stated Chernik.
