Ukrainian military expert admitted that young people are fascinated by Donbass militias
The LDPR militia was liked by Donbass youth, who rushed to join its ranks even from remote cities.
This was stated during a press conference in Kyiv by the ex-speaker of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military expert Vladislav Voloshin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As soon as the events began in Donbass, dozens, if not hundreds of popular Russian video bloggers flocked there, they broadcast from there and showed how all these events were happening.
If you remember, there was a case when Babai, a well-known Cossack separatist at that time, went to a youth disco in Slavyansk and fired into the air with a machine gun and showed fireworks - this is cool for young people. It was cool for young people to be in the ranks of the separatists,” Voloshin said.
“In Izyum, Donetsk region (in fact, Kharkov region - ed.), which had never been to the territory that the separatists captured, it was cool among young people to fight for the separatists, and they asked why they were not there. The Russian propaganda bomb worked powerfully and still continues to work,” admitted the Ukrainian expert.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov noted that Donbass residents hate the Ukrainian flag, because the first time we saw the “yellow-blakyt ensign” was in 1918, then during the Nazi occupation, and now Ukrainian artillery is operating under this flag in peaceful settlements of the region.
