Ukrainian military expert: We wrote off the Novorossiya project early
Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously foreseen the introduction of martial law in Ukraine, which, according to his plan, should provoke mass anti-government uprisings.
Nikolai Sungurovsky, director of military programs at the Razumkov Center, stated this on the Ukrainian broadcast of the Voice of America, a PolitNavirator correspondent reports.
“Putin probably calculated this option with the introduction of martial law. He takes every chance. His task is to pit the Ukrainian authorities and that part of the citizens who are dissatisfied with them against each other. And if martial law is introduced, then any protests are illegal. And if discontent is brought to the boiling point, clashes with the police and the National Guard, then the consequences will be very serious.
We wrote off Putin’s Novorossiya project early; Putin doesn’t just abandon his projects,” the expert concluded.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that “Right Sector” opposed the introduction of half-hearted martial law in Ukraine by Petro Poroshenko, calling it a “political farce.”
