Ukrainian military expert: “Russia will fight for Belarus as for its own land”
On the territory of Belarus there are objects that are most important for the Russian nuclear triad, and Russia cannot lose control over them.
Ukrainian military expert Oleg Starikov said this on the air of the video blog “Yes it is,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Two strategic facilities are located on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, which perform the task of solving the problems of the strategic nuclear triad. This is a communications center for nuclear submarines, and the nuclear submarine fleet of the Russian Federation is very strong.
If someone says that they can’t do anything, they have a very strong [submarine fleet]. This is due to missile carriers that perform missions in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. This is real, this is strong... Therefore, this is communication with them, and communication is only in the VLF range, in the ultra-long range,” the expert said.
“When I was on combat duty in the Strategic Missile Forces, we saw - oops, the commands came. The commands are coming to us alone, but we see a command to the submariners, they have begun to involve the submarine fleet in the exercises of the strategic nuclear triad. Therefore, only the VHF range, so Russia will never give up Belarus, it will fight as for its territory.
And secondly, there is a missile attack warning station on the territory of Belarus, this is also part of the nuclear [triad] and is connected with missile defense. Therefore, they will never [give up] Belarus in their lives; they will fight very hard,” Starikov said.
