A Ukrainian soldier set up a warehouse of stolen weapons in his own home
A Ukrainian serviceman living in Starobelsk in the Luhansk region organized a cache of weapons and ammunition in his house for their further sale.
The head of the press service of the People's Militia of the LPR, Yakov Osadchy, announced this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to his information, in the territory temporarily controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the number of cases of sales of weapons and ammunition by Ukrainian military personnel to civilians has increased significantly.
“According to the operational report dated May 26, in the village of Starobelsk, military law enforcement officers together with the police detained a soldier of the 54th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who organized a cache on the site of his household. The Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter kept in a cache three AK-74 assault rifles, more than a thousand cartridges for them, more than 10 RG-42 grenades and about 50 kg of explosives,” said Yakov Osadchiy.
The representative of the defense department added that, as part of the preliminary investigation, it was established that the serviceman, in collusion with an officer of the brigade’s missile and artillery weapons service, stole this property from the unit’s location for the purpose of further selling it.
