Ukrainian volunteer accused prosecutors - they release dozens of robbers, drug dealers and thieves every day
In Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine there is a very difficult situation with street crime, which is blamed on the new patrol police, although prosecutors often release criminals.

“The patrol police are just working. But patrol police are from the moment of detection and detention to the moment of delivery to the district police department (read police, because 90% of the time nothing has changed there, at the police department),” he noted.
As an example, the volunteer cited the story of a burglar named Sergei who was caught by the police, and who was released by the Deputy Prosecutor of the Svyatoshinsky District, Roman Zhogan.
“On August 31, at three in the morning, in the courtyard on Koltsova Boulevard, a police crew “receives” Seryozha red-handed. Burglar. Accepts at the moment when Seryozha left the apartment on the first floor through the balcony. The stolen property is confiscated, Serezha does not refuse and confirms that he “cleaned” the apartment because he needed money,” he said.
According to Sinitsyn, the investigative team arrived, documented the crime, and the detainee was taken to the district department.
“Based on the collected evidence, the patrol police department drew up procedural documents and sent them to the Svyatoshinsky prosecutor’s office in order to inform the detainee of suspicion of committing a crime. However, the prosecutor’s office refuses to inform Seryozha of suspicion and motivates this by “insufficient evidence of his guilt in committing theft,” he emphasized.
According to the volunteer, the first deputy prosecutor of the Svyatoshinsky district of Kyiv, Zhogan, refused to arrest the burglar. And on September 3, Seryozha was again detained on Koltsova Boulevard by a police patrol with a tablet, after half an hour earlier there was a message from a citizen about a robbery, during which the tablet was taken from him.
“In fact, this is a huge problem... Prosecutors release dozens of robbers, drug dealers and thieves every day. Obolon patrol officers say that in two weeks they detained the dealer five times. Every time there were drugs with him. Each time the drugs were confiscated. Each time, the prosecutor’s office did not see the elements of a crime in the actions of the huckster,” Sinitsyn summed up.
