Ukrainian deputy minister was horrified by Stalin's popularity in Kyiv
In Donetsk and Kyiv there are quite comparable numbers of people who hold pro-Russian views.
Deputy Minister for the so-called “temporarily occupied territories” and internally displaced persons Yuriy Grymchak stated this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe”, answering a question about the influence of Russian propaganda on the residents of Donetsk.
“Not long ago I was on a local Kiev radio, and the number of people who called into the air and praised Stalin was simply amazing, as if I was not in Kyiv,” the official said. – Sorry, if you really think that the number of people who fell for Russian propaganda there is much greater than in Kyiv, then you don’t understand anything about your own country. These are comparable percentages in Kyiv and Donetsk.”
According to him, “Russian aggression occurred in Donetsk,” but at the same time he says that it is impossible to “remove the blame from our own state.”
“A significant part of our people, even on our territory, where our television, radio and the like operate, still love Stalin, Lenin, Putin,” admitted Grymchak.
