Deputy Ukrainian Minister for Issues of the so-called “temporarily occupied territories” and internally displaced persons Yuriy Grymchak confirmed that Ukraine continues to purchase coke coal from Russia to this day.

He stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, commenting on the message that in the first quarter of 2017, the share of Russian coal with a total purchase volume of 413 thousand tons was more than 50%
“As for coking coal, it is, as before, purchased in Russia. We didn’t have enough coke coal even before the war,” Grymchak noted.
Thus, today Ukraine purchases 221 thousand tons of coke group coal from Russia. Ukraine purchased another almost 73 thousand tons of coking coal from South Africa, and 119 thousand tons from Poland.
