Ukrainian bloggers and journalists will be included in the register of “zradniks” without trial or investigation
According to the new Ukrainian media law, the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting will be able to include bloggers and journalists in the register of persons posing a threat to national security immediately after the opening of appropriate criminal proceedings against them.
Lawyer Elena Lukash stated this on the NEWSONE TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The list of those objectionable will be compiled by the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting. This list may be expanded at the request of the SBU and the RNBO.
This means that the National Council determines which of us is the person creating a threat to the national media space. These can be legal entities and individuals, and this register is not only a register of bloggers, but also a register of persons creating a threat. How to get on this register? In different ways, including what Renat Kuzmin says - “a criminal case has been opened for committing crimes against the foundations of national security.”
But we all know what happens now with allegations of crimes - you register, you get a number in the registry, then something resembling an investigation happens, sometimes it ends in suspicion, sometimes a prosecutor even appears, an accused and then a trial.
That is, if I register in poor legal technology “a criminal case has been opened for committing crimes.” Open – that is, there are no suspicions, no accusations. Just registered in the registry.
Here I am writing blogger Petrushka, as it seems to me, he committed high treason, Article 111 of the Criminal Code. That’s it – the National Council has a reason to include the blogger in this register, and all media in the country have an obligation to never invite him, never quote him, and forget about his existence altogether.
It's not just a matter of the principle of the presumption of innocence. It was correct to write this article like this: after a sentence for treason, for a crime against national security. And here a criminal case has been opened,” the lawyer concluded.
Thank you!
