Ilmi Umerov wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“Many of the activists, and specifically the leadership of the Mejlis, are in exile, in prison, or under constant persecution by the Russian special services in Crimea. The merit of the Mejlis and its supporters is that resistance to occupation and the fight for their rights, despite persecution, did not stop. We call on Ukrainian parliamentarians to nominate the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018,” the address to Ukrainian deputies says.
