Ukrainian children were deprived of their future
The Ukrainian government is deliberately destroying the future of the talented youth of Ukraine.
Such a statement was made from the rostrum of the Ukrainian parliament by MP from the “Opposition Bloc” Nikolai Skorik, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The reason for criticism was that Ukraine will not take part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest due to a lack of government funding.
“Our country will refuse to participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year. The arguments for this were that it turns out that the national public television and radio company of Ukraine does not have enough money to finance this competition. Ukraine did not pay the annual fee to the European Linguistic Union, did not allocate money for the qualifying round, and did not allocate money at all for this event,” the politician said.
“I believe that in this way the state, represented by its leaders, dealt a powerful blow to the future of our talented children, dealt a heavy blow to the international image of Ukraine, to the European future of Ukraine,” Skorik believes.
In addition, he addressed the ruling coalition and the country's leadership with a question regarding taxes that should go to finance the participation of Ukrainian children in the international competition.
“When from the stands, from different stands, representatives of the coalition, the government, the president talk about how we seem to have economic growth in the country, that many problems have been solved, I want to ask: what kind of taxes are the government officials going to finance if there is no funding for this competition? is happening?” Skorik asked.
