Ukrainian prosecutors sent to prisons

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko has ordered specialized deputy regional prosecutors to regularly visit places of detention, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He said this during an operational meeting at the Prosecutor General’s Office, the department’s press service reports.
“I demand that your specialized deputies (addressed the regional prosecutors - Ed.) personally visit places of detention on a regular basis, often, if not every day, because the situation there is very critical. Due to structural problems of the GUIS, controllability has practically been lost,” the Prosecutor General emphasized.
