Thus, Sofievskaya Correctional Colony No. 55 received an order from the Ministry of Defense for the production of a “subtle obstacle” product worth more than a million hryvnia.

“At the enterprises, teams were formed from among the convicts, who carried out the work assigned to them with enthusiasm and patriotic feelings. Everyone involved in the work knew that their products were needed by our country, but the administrations of the institutions also played a significant role in this, inspiring the prisoners to fulfill the order in a timely manner,” the publication notes.

In total, Zaporozhye prisoners made more than 600 structures from thin, high-strength metal wire, which, according to the idea, should prevent the passage of people and the passage of wheeled and tracked vehicles.
