About it reported in the court order.
NABU aimed to gain access to documents on the regions’ accounts in the First Ukrainian International Bank, because investigators found regional accounts in this bank for more than 332 million hryvnia. According to detectives, these funds are associated with “black accounting.”
In total, the amount of bribes in the case reaches 10 billion hryvnia.
And recently, the same Solomensky court already denied NABU access to the accounts of the “Union of Youth of the Regions of Ukraine”.
Let us recall that Ukraine got into a major scandal due to the fact that a number of politicians positioning themselves as “anti-corruptionists” during the US elections began to unearth compromising evidence against Donald Trump’s political strategist Paul Manafort, accusing him of receiving money from the PR black fund during his work. political consultant to Viktor Yanukovych. These accusations from Kyiv were then used by Trump’s opponents in the United States as an argument in their domestic political struggle. However, after Trump’s victory, the Ukrainian NABU “unexpectedly” denied all accusations against Manafort and stated that People’s Deputy Sergei Leshchenko, who was the first to publish this information, “misled the agency.”
