The journalist quotes one of the conscripts, according to whom the officers throw out from their bedside tables all personal items that seem unnecessary to them - including underwear brought from home.
“The set of thermal underwear that I should wear in the fall has already come apart at the seams. And when I wash it, I walk around naked, because I have nothing else to wear,” the recruit complained.
In the nightstand, soldiers are allowed to store one book, one bar of soap, one set of razors and toilet paper.
Meanwhile, the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sagaidachny believes that this situation is normal.
“There are standards for clothing provision that regulate this and are indicated in the documents of the Ministry of Education,” said the head of the academy’s clothing service, captain Vitaly Malinevsky.
