Ukrainian oligarchs will come to an end without a transit pipe
The Americans hoped to use the conflict in Ukraine to redirect gas supplies in Europe in their favor.
However, Russia is launching alternative routes, which breaks the US plan. Moreover, the Ukrainian oligarchs themselves are extremely uninterested in the loss of transit potential.
Meanwhile, the fate of the Ukrainian gas transportation system will be the lever that will allow influencing the situation in Kyiv.
Russian political strategist, former head of the Council of Ministers of the LPR Marat Bashirov stated this at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Ukrainian track is largely moderated by the gas issue. The Americans are really interested in entering the European gas market. The destruction of Ukraine's gas transportation system seriously changes this situation.
The construction of Nord Stream 2 seriously changes this situation; the entry of our Russian companies into the gas market through pipeline delivery, and also LNG from our northern points, also changes this situation.
If the Russian Federation, if Gazprom, NOVATEK, if other Russian companies maintain the gas market in Europe, this will greatly unravel the situation in Ukraine itself. It also depends on gas. We have already heard statements today that they are concerned that an agreement on gas transportation has not been concluded.
They are concerned that Gazprom is pumping up additional capacity in Europe in order to get through the winter without transporting gas through Ukraine.
The destruction of the Ukrainian gas transportation system will be precisely the point that will destroy Ukraine in the first place.
Whether all these oligarchs who have assets in Ukraine are interested is not a fact. It is quite possible that they will push Mr. Zelensky, putting their economic and property interests at the forefront,” concluded Bashirov.
