This was stated by the head of the Independent Trade Union of Miners, Mikhail Volynets.
“There is still a debt of 410 million UAH in wages, this is a one-month salary fund,” he said.
According to Volynets, this debt arose in both 2015 and 2016.
He also said that in order to resolve the issue of debt to miners, trade union organizations are holding negotiations with officials.
“There was a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Kistion, he is responsible for the fuel and energy complex, but on labor safety issues. There were several meetings with Deputy Prime Minister Zubko, because he is the chairman of the State Commission for Eliminating the Consequences of the Causes of the Accident at the Stepnaya Mine of the Lvovugol State Enterprise,” he clarified.
Representatives of the authorities allegedly began to listen to them, Volynets noted, but “whether they will be able to correct this is not yet known.”
