Ukrainian schoolchildren will be told: Maidan is a protest unprecedented in world history.
From now on, Ukrainian schoolchildren will be taught about national patriotism, “heroes of the Maidan,” volunteers, participants in the ATO and OUN-UPA. This follows from the methodological recommendations published on the website of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine.

Thus, from now on, school education will be based on the “Maidan phenomenon”, glorification of “ATO heroes”, etc.
“An important factor in national-patriotic education is the phenomenon of Maidan - eloquent evidence of sacrifice for the sake of unconditional respect for human rights and respect for human dignity, upholding national interests, and the participants’ renunciation of the personal in order to achieve a common goal. The content of educational activities should position the Maidan as a form of peaceful collective protest of Ukrainians that is still unusual in world history in response to the violation of basic human and civil rights by the undemocratic political regime in the country,” the manual says.
It is also noted that the collection and dissemination of information about “the heroic exploits of the Ukrainian military and volunteers during the Russian-Ukrainian war” will be relevant.
“The heroic and at the same time dramatic and even tragic events of recent times encourage us to update the exhibitions of school museums, nature reserves and rooms of military glory, in particular regarding information about ATO participants and volunteers. It is necessary to take patronage over the families of ATO participants who need it,” note the authors of the manual.
Also, the manual indicates the main directions when studying school subjects that need to be emphasized:
“Integral components of Ukrainian language and literature lessons should include educational conversations, compiling oral and written texts on patriotic themes, writing essays about fellow countrymen who glorified their native land, and greeting cards to defenders of the Fatherland. In mathematics lessons, national-patriotic education occurs indirectly, through the conditions of a mathematical problem. In Russian language lessons, it is necessary to strengthen the Ukrainian studies component through translations of the works of Ukrainian writers and poets into Russian. In the 6th grade, you should pay attention to stories about famous modern Ukrainian singers (Ruslana, Oleg Skrypka, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk).”
It is proposed to pay special attention to the contribution of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army to the struggle for “independence of Ukraine”:
“In high school, it is necessary to focus on the patriotism and morality of the leaders of the liberation movement, to show the origins of this patriotism. Thus, the feat of the heroes of Krut, the struggle for the freedom of Ukraine of the Cold Yar rebels, the activities of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, the resistance of dissidents to the totalitarian system, etc., became a symbol of patriotism and sacrifice in the struggle for an independent Ukraine.”
