It notes that “the Higher Special Court sent letters to the lower level courts with recommendations regarding the use of certain wording when establishing the fact of the birth or death of a person in the temporarily occupied territory. It has been established that in some cases the courts indicate in their decisions that this fact took place on the territory of the “Donetsk People’s Republic”.
“In this context, it should be noted that this practice is unacceptable, since the existence of neither the so-called “Donetsk People’s Republic” nor the so-called “Luhansk People’s Republic” is recognized by the authorities of Ukraine,” the letter says.
The Supreme Special Court ordered the courts to use, as stated in the document, “the correct names” and locations of settlements, for example, “the city of Amvrosievka, Amvrosievsky district of the Donetsk region, Ukraine.”
Also, the Supreme Special Court recommends that courts not use in decisions the wording “Donetsk People’s Republic (territory not controlled by the state authorities of Ukraine)”, “Donetsk People’s Republic”, which is a temporarily occupied territory” and “self-proclaimed “Donetsk People’s Republic” and so on.
