According to a source in the DPR militia, yesterday the people's militia forces finally established control over the village of Marinovka. A detachment led by the famous commander Motorola, as well as Serbian volunteers, took part in the battles. The bridge on the Mius River was also destroyed, making it difficult for Ukrainian security forces to transport armored vehicles.
The ATO leadership does not officially recognize the capture of the settlement. Marinovka is constantly being bombarded with artillery and air strikes. From time to time, Ukrainian troops make attempts to recapture the settlement.
This object is strategically important, since with its capture the militia actually closed a large group of Ukrainian troops in a “cauldron”. Also, this settlement is important for control over the Ukrainian-Russian border.
According to the agency's source, up to several thousand Ukrainian soldiers have been surrounded for several days. They are suffering heavy losses, they have practically run out of ammunition, fuel and lubricants, and drinking water. With the capture of Marinovka, the militia gains the tactical opportunity to completely destroy the encircled enemy group.
As Navigator reported, the heaviest battles over the past few days have taken place near Donetsk Marinovka, as well as Lugansk Izvarino. Protests took place in Kyiv and the Lviv region, during which relatives of military personnel demanded that the authorities send reinforcements to the encircled troops.
