Lviv, March 10 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) –  Due to the high dollar exchange rate, high-quality ammunition has become almost inaccessible to Ukrainian fighters.

Volunteers say that they order clothes at one rate, but when they come to pick them up, they calculate the price differently, at a higher price. Therefore, they began to look for alternative ammunition in Ukraine, reports the ZIK TV channel.

The Lvov Military Support Center says: due to instability in the foreign exchange market, Ukrainians are rapidly becoming poorer, which is why their donations have decreased. A few months ago the shelves were full of clothes and shoes, but now they are half empty. At the same time, there are many things that cannot be bought for hryvnias, because they simply are not produced in Ukraine, volunteers note.

Volunteer Bogdan Maslyak brings backpacks and uniforms for soldiers only from abroad. He says that if previously ankle boots cost 600-700 UAH, now they cost at least one and a half thousand. The man admits that he has already gone bankrupt three times due to currency fluctuations, but still will not give up his business, because our uniform is significantly inferior in quality to European or even Russian ones. Therefore, despite the exchange rate of the hryvnia, ammunition must be purchased abroad.

“It costs at least one hundred euros to dress a fighter in light shoes and clothing. These are knee pads or light protective equipment. I’m already silent about thermal underwear and underwear. Basically together it is 500 euros. It all depends on what we take. If there is also a bulletproof vest and a helmet, the price doubles,” Maslyak said.

“There is less hassle now with the mobilized, because the state provides them with body armor, helmets and clothing. However, after the first fights they complain about poor-quality shoes and uniforms that burn and stick to the skin,” the publication writes.
