The Ukrainian Air Force was promised 30 modernized Soviet aircraft
This year, the Air Force fleet will be replenished with almost 30 repaired and modernized aircraft, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by the commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel General Sergei Drozdov, according to the website of the Ministry of Defense.
“This year, after repair and modernization, we plan to receive up to 30 aircraft from the enterprises of the Ukroboronprom concern - MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters, Su-25 attack aircraft. By the way, the Odessa plant, in collaboration with other defense industry enterprises, is now working on modernizing the Su-24MR aircraft,” Drozdov said.
He expressed confidence that thanks to modernization, this equipment can be used effectively for a long time.
“Thanks to the work carried out at defense industry enterprises, in the near future we will receive weapons capable of effectively resisting air attack weapons in the entire range of altitudes and speeds in conditions of intense electronic and fire influence from the enemy,” noted the Air Force commander.
According to him, units of the radio technical troops are also receiving new and modernized equipment, in particular the P-18 radar of various modifications and the Pelican digital radar.
