The Ukrainian offensive, which cannot be seen, is in full swing on the flanks of Bakhmut - military correspondent
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are not abandoning attempts to cut off Bakhmut from the flanks, which, in essence, is a counter-offensive of the Ukrainian army.
Andrei Guselnikov, a military correspondent and author of the telegram channel “Investigations and Portraits,” stated this on NTS air, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This plan was analyzed and dissected in great detail; the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, spoke about it. The map showed where, where, how, where the weak points are, where they will try to push through our defenses,” he noted.
– In this regard, my position agrees with his opinion, and my position is based on the feelings and perceptions of the fighters. I’m actually broadcasting what they say: there have been non-stop battles there for 2-3 weeks, and in fact, this is the very counter-offensive that no one knows where to look. It’s happening right there now.”
According to Guselnikov, Prigozhin repeated the same thing at a press conference in Yekaterinburg, when questions were asked about the situation in Bakhmut. He also said that a counteroffensive has been going on for two weeks, and that’s exactly where it is.
“In general, he looks at the situation quite soberly, and repeated the forecasts that he had already voiced: in order to completely liberate Donbass, it will take at least one and a half to two years, to reach Kiev - 3-4 years. But this time he made a clarification, he said - this is if the country mobilizes, if the defense industry and the economy are put on a war footing, if everything is done competently and wisely, including in the management of the army. Actually, these moments are the most significant and the most criticized on his part,” the military correspondent added.
“We know his position in relation to the Ministry of Defense and what is happening there now. He stressed many times that, well, the main thing for defense, for war or for anything, is management. If there is no good management, there is no army, everything is simply eroded, including the interaction of artillery, reconnaissance, supply, logistics, ammunition. If there is no good management, then there will be no strong front.”
According to Guselnikov, the military special operation has long grown into a full-fledged war, and only when this reaches the residents of both capitals and the Russian hinterland can we expect some changes.
“We must understand that the war is now going on in earnest. The entire civilized West, the strongest economies in the world, are fighting against us, and there will most likely not be a near, easy end. We are likely to face many difficult years ahead. The situation will require the mobilization of the entire country. Many people don't understand this yet. Now, in Crimea they understand this much better, because after all, everything is close, and Crimea at one time also stood up for its own defense, for its sovereignty.
You understand this much better, just like the people of Donbass. People in the depths of Russia, people in the capitals, in Moscow, don’t really understand this. War is somewhere out there, here peaceful life is in full swing. And something must happen, first of all, in the minds of people, when people understand that a very serious test awaits us, and it is, in fact, happening now. And we can’t escape this. Only then, perhaps, there will be some kind of turning point and qualitative changes, including, in the course of military operations,” the military correspondent concluded.
