The Ukrainian government has planned the murder of regional gas companies
The action plan of Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal to stop the crisis of non-payments due to rising tariffs will lead to the destruction of gas supply companies and will not reduce household expenses for utilities.
Sergei Salivon, director of the economic policy department of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, said this in a conversation on the Capital channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Shmygal has already announced a plan to stop the tariff part of the crisis. He proposes either setting the gas tariff according to the formula: price at European hubs minus transportation costs. Now - plus the cost of transportation, and we have been told for years that there is no way to change it, that this is the market price, although it is clear that this is talk for very narrow-minded people. The second in the same set is the margin limit for gas supply companies.
And the second option, which Shmygal proposes, which seems to have been developed by Naftogaz, but it looks completely ridiculous - they say, gas supply companies should be required to publish the annual gas tariff, this will increase competition and thereby straighten out the market. This looks like a complete joke.
Both options preserve and strengthen Naftogaz. The second one, of course, is more profitable for Naftogaz, but so is the first one. Does the right thing, plus helps destroy gas supply companies, most of which are controlled by Dmitry Firtash. That is, we are not talking about solving the problem in the interests of the people, consumers, but about redistributing the assets of our gas oligarch in favor of our Western partners - either directly or indirectly, through the control of Western partners over Naftogaz.
Although the root of the tariff problem, and therefore, ultimately, of heat and hot water, lies precisely in the monopoly of Naftogaz, which has the ability to set gas prices with a profitability of 300-400 percent. And all this is called market pricing. If any of these two schemes is implemented, the population will receive a temporary and small rollback in gas prices.
This will not be a rollback of prices to the autumn level. The tariff for heat and hot water will most likely roll back to an even lesser extent and with an even greater delay. There is no talk at all about revising electricity tariffs, they are even discussing it - apparently it will be increased from April 1st. My prediction is that in the end the population will pay for this entire corps de ballet in any case. We will get closer to Europe,” Salivon said.
