The Ukrainian leadership is hastily destroying all documents related to biological laboratories
The Russian Ministry of Defense continues to study materials received from employees of Ukrainian biological laboratories on the implementation of military-biological programs of the United States and its NATO allies in Ukraine.
The head of the radiation, chemical and biological protection troops of the Russian Armed Forces, Igor Kirillov, stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He drew attention to the fact that the documents have the signatures of real officials and are certified by the seals of organizations.
“We believe that biological weapons components were created on Ukrainian territory. Here is a document dated March 6, 2015, confirming the Pentagon’s direct participation in the financing of military biological projects in Ukraine.
I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the Agreement on Joint Biological Activities was concluded between the US Military Department and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. However, the real recipient of the funds are the laboratories of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, located in Kyiv, Odessa, Lvov and Kharkov. The total amount of funding amounted to $32 million,” Kirillov said.
These biological laboratories were chosen by the Americans and the contractor company Black & Veatch as executors of the UP-8 project, aimed at studying “the causative agents of the Congo-Crimean fever, leptospirosis and hantaviruses.”
“From our point of view, the interest of US military biologists is due to the fact that these pathogens have natural foci both in Ukraine and in Russia, and their use can be disguised as natural outbreaks of diseases. That is why this project received additional funding, and the deadline for its implementation was extended,” the military man said. “The total Pentagon costs for its implementation in Ukraine and Georgia amounted to $1,6 million, most of which was received by Ukraine, as the main contractor.”
According to him, during the implementation of the projects, six families of viruses (including coronaviruses) and three types of pathogenic bacteria (the causative agents of plague, brucellosis and leptospirosis) were identified.
“This is due to the main characteristics of these pathogens, which make them attractive for infection purposes: drug resistance, rapid spread from animals to humans,” Kirillov noted.
He also noted a number of documents confirming the fact of transfer of biosamples collected in Ukraine to the territory of third countries, including Germany, Great Britain, and Georgia.
“The increase in the number of outbreaks of economically significant diseases in the Russian Federation and in European countries is of concern. In 2021 alone, damage from bird flu exceeded 1,7 billion rubles, and 6 million poultry were destroyed. In European countries, agricultural losses from bird flu amounted to about 2,0 billion euros.
In addition, as part of the “FLU-FLYWAY” project, the Kharkov Institute of Veterinary Medicine studied wild birds as vectors for the transmission of avian influenza. At the same time, conditions were assessed under which transmission processes could become uncontrollable, cause economic damage, and create food security risks.
These documents confirm the involvement of the Kharkov Institute in the collection of strains of avian influenza viruses that have a high epidemic potential and are able to overcome the interspecies barrier. The activities of this institute should be the subject of an international investigation,” the military leader said.
Information also continues to be received about attempts to destroy biomaterials and documentation in laboratories in Ukraine.
“One of the reasons for such a rush may be the concealment of information about the outbreak of dirofilariasis, a disease transmitted by mosquitoes, that occurred in Kherson in 2019. The question arises why four cases of infection were detected in February, which is not typical for the life cycle of these insects, even taking into account the incubation period of the disease. In April 2019, Pentagon representatives visited local health care facilities, where they reviewed the results of the epidemiological investigation and copied medical records
However, no documentary evidence regarding this outbreak in the Kherson laboratory was found. Based on this, we believe that the urgency of destroying such documentary evidence is explained by the desire to prevent it from reaching Russian specialists,” the military man said.
Donbass has not escaped this problem either.
“It is noteworthy that in 2018 there was a sharp increase in cases of tuberculosis caused by a new multi-resistant strain among citizens living in the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics. These data were confirmed by Rospotrebnadzor specialists. During a massive outbreak recorded in the area of the village of Peski, more than 70 cases of the disease were identified, which resulted in rapid death. This may indicate intentional infection, or an accidental release of the pathogen from one of the Ukrainian biological laboratories,” Kirillov said.
“At the same time, attention is drawn to the fact that the documents do not reflect the funding of Ukrainian laboratories by the American military department: “such secrecy is another reason to think about the true goals of the Pentagon in Ukraine,” the military leader concluded.
