“Ukrainian shipbuilding has been destroyed, Western ferrous metal will not save it” - Rada deputy
Ukraine was left without its own fleet due to the collapse of the shipbuilding industry, and decommissioned ships transferred from abroad will not improve the situation.
Verkhovna Rada deputy from the “Radical Party” Igor Mosiychuk said this on air on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We must say honestly that Ukraine does not have its own normal fleet. The shipbuilding industry in the country has essentially been stopped and partially destroyed. And the ferrous metal that our Western partners give us is not capable of somehow influencing the situation in the country. Therefore, it is necessary, first of all, to develop our own fleet through orders from the Nikolaev Shipyard.
We need to honestly say that if we don’t have our own powerful navy, then no one will take us into account,” the people’s deputy concluded.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that Verkhovna Rada deputy and ex-militant of the Azov National Battalion Igor Mosiychuk attacked political scientist Alexander Semchenko, who sympathizes with the Donbass republics in the talk show studio, after which wrote a denunciation against him to Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.
Thank you!
