“Ukrainian grain is running out, Türkiye is returning to Russian grain” - Russian agrarian
After the “grain deal,” Türkiye stopped buying Russian grain because it switched to Ukrainian.
The head of the Russian Grain Union, Arkady Zlochevsky, stated this at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We traditionally monitor the ranking of importers based on our resources. So far, as of December 19, during this season, it can be stated that Egypt has regained its leading position and is in first place in purchases. Turkey has moved to second, Iran has already firmly established itself in third place, despite the fact that initially it started this season rather weakly, did not actively purchase, now it has become more active, and during November-December it climbed to third place in our purchases,” said Zlochevsky.
He emphasized that Ukrainian grain resources are close to their end, which strengthened Russian grain exports to Turkey
“There have been minor changes in the geographical picture, but they occurred at the start of the season, due to the fact that Turkey switched to Ukrainian purchases due to the “grain deal” and stopped buying from us, and is now catching up with the lost pace of purchases and regaining its positions and returned to second place.
This is mainly due to the fact that in Ukraine the resources are close to the end, there are only four million tons of wheat left for shipment from the possible potential, if not damaging their domestic consumption. Therefore, demand is returning to our shipments and this automatically brings out this picture,” the agrarian added.
