The Cabinet of Ministers decided to check the Minister of Ecology Igor Shevchenko for corruption after he flew from Nice to Kyiv on the plane of the deputy and owner of the gas production business Alexander Onishchenko, who was attacked shortly before his resignation by the ex-head of the SBU Valentin Nalyvaichenko.

“The check will be carried out regarding his (Shevchenko’s) trip outside the territory of Ukraine on a charter flight using a private plane, as well as to ensure that such actions of the minister comply with the requirements of the law,” the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers said in a statement.
The National State Service, the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of Justice, the State Border Service, and the State Aviation Service will take part in the inspection.
Earlier, the leader of the Radical Party, Oleg Lyashko, stated that the Minister of Ecology was on vacation in Nice and Monaco during a fire at an oil depot near Kiev.
Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk also reprimanded Shevchenko:
“I would strongly advise you to go to the fire. 5 days, an environmental issue for the whole country and the whole world, but the minister was not there, this is not good.”
