He became the head of the department for the organization of patrol service, search and garrison activities of the Military Law Enforcement Service in the Kiev-controlled part of the Donetsk region. At the same time, he was entrusted with the preparation and training of recruits.
After a month and a half, the lieutenant colonel showed what he was capable of. When two soldiers were late for formation on the parade ground of a military base located in the Nauka boarding house in the city of Krasny Liman, the lieutenant colonel gave them an RGD-5 grenade each, pulled the pin and ordered them to return to duty.
The soldiers, with grenades clutched in their hands ready to explode, listened to the lieutenant colonel’s ensign wisdom for another ten to fifteen minutes, until he ordered them to go to the “firing line,” marking it with machine gun shots.
After the order “Lie down!” and “Forward!” they crawled in the direction opposite to the formation, with grenades in their hands. And at this time the sadist picked up a machine gun and began shooting over their heads.
Considering that the lesson had been taught, the lieutenant colonel gave the command to throw grenades one by one.
Of course, this behavior could be explained by post-traumatic syndrome, but the lieutenant colonel was an ordinary staff rat.
But if he had at least some obligations towards the soldiers, then civilians found themselves completely defenseless, which this “hero” did not fail to take advantage of.
On his day off, as a representative of the law enforcement service, he toured the locality. Near the river, soldiers were found fishing and drinking. Of course, having seen the lieutenant colonel, they invited the commander to the table as soon as he discovered them.
Two local residents were also fishing not far from the military. Unfortunately for them, the “separatist” conversation of the locals reached the ears of the lieutenant colonel.
He returned to the unit’s location, took the previously unaccounted for Makarov pistol with cartridges that had been found by no one, and as soon as it began to get dark, he returned to the place where the “separatists” were. The lieutenant colonel approached their tent and fired a shot into the air. After he had forced them to their knees, the executioner made a short but fiery patriotic speech, and then two shots were fired.
One man’s head was crushed by a bullet, and the other, fortunately, was only shell-shocked and, waking up in the morning, finding the corpse of a comrade near him, he called the police.
Court sentenced war criminal to thirteen years in prison with deprivation of all ranks.
