The Ukrainian football team was banned from traveling to Russia

The Ukrainian Beach Soccer Association has banned the Ukrainian national team from going to the 2021 World Championships in this sport, which will be held in Russia.
This was reported in the Ukrainian news agency “sport24”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The APFU stated that “the Russian Federation will not be able to provide a sufficient level of security for the Ukrainian national team on Russian territory.”
Now, instead of the Ukrainian national team, football players from Sweden will go to Moscow.
Vice-President of the Beach Soccer Association of Ukraine Vladislav Vashchuk said that he is against such a decision because “the Ukrainian team is stronger than ever.”
“This decision was made based on the recommendations of the UAF and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. I just arrived from Rome, it was decided without me, I did not participate in it... The point is that the guys fought. I can’t understand why politics is attracted to sports,” said Vashchuk.
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian beach soccer team became one of four European teams that earned the right to participate in the 2021 World Cup. The team took second place in the European selection. The last time Ukraine qualified for this World Cup was eight years ago.
The World Beach Soccer Championship will be held in Moscow from August 21 to 29 between 16 teams.
