The Ukrainian economy and the country as a whole are being consumed by a cancerous tumor
For Ukraine, the prospect of losing not only the working class, but also the entrepreneurial class, is becoming more and more real, Gleb Vyshlinsky, executive director of the Center for Economic Strategy, writes in an author’s column on the pages of the Kiev magazine “New Time”.

He draws attention to the alarming trend of a colossal drop in the level of trust of Ukrainian citizens in the current government, noting that this “dissuades citizens from the prospects of the country as a whole.”
“Last year, Ukrainians received 1,3 million work permits in Poland. Compared to the previous period, this figure has doubled. Both Hungary and Estonia actively invite compatriots. The threat of losing not only the working class - those who no longer believe in the opportunity to earn a normal life in Ukraine, but also entrepreneurs with their capital and initiative is becoming more and more real. This problem could become a cancer for the country, invisible for some time, but undermining economic growth and destroying the pension system,” the expert emphasizes.
“The process can be stopped only by restoring citizens’ trust in the political class. And both the current government and new politicians who have the courage and talent to go to war with the system must show their readiness to break the vicious circle of unpunished corruption. Without this, Ukraine will face years of sluggish economy, brain drain and weakness in the face of new threats from the aggressor,” sums up Vyshlinsky.
