No one wants to buy the Ukrainian gas transportation system
Kyiv has no potential buyers for the Ukrainian gas transportation system, said Yuriy Vitrenko, executive director of Naftogaz of Ukraine, on the ICTV channel.
“Now, unfortunately, there are no people who would like to buy a Ukrainian gas transportation system. So that international corporations come and say: “We want to completely buy the Ukrainian gas transportation system.” Neither for 300 billion euros, nor for a much smaller amount,” he said, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Previously, Ukrainian experts proposed selling the gas transportation system to the West so that it would be interested in preserving the gas transit route through Ukraine.
Russia is preparing to commission two new pipelines, Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream, which will provide transit bypassing Ukraine.
The significance of the Ukrainian gas transportation system in these conditions will drop sharply.
Kyiv is seeking to maintain the volumes of transit of Russian gas through its gas transportation system, since otherwise its operation will be unprofitable.
